Tyler Havens

Director of Chapter Services

Tyler Havens, an initiate of the Chicago Alumni Chapter, graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) college at Fredonia in 2003, earning a B.S.Ed. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Math. While there, he was involved in a number of campus life activities including being initiated as a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. This led him to pursue and earn a M.S. in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University in 2005. Tyler joined the staff in 2019 as was promoted in 2021 to Director of Chapter Services. He is responsible for strategy development and overseeing the chapter development and growth/expansion areas as well as the conduct and accountability procedures for the Fraternity's chapters and members. 

Tyler has had a fifteen-year career as a campus-based professional and volunteer prior to joining the Central Office staff. His stops as "Chief Fraternity Officer" led him to Monmouth University, Georgia College & State University, and back to Western Illinois. 

He has served as a small group and lead facilitator, presenter and panelist for a number of organizations and programs including the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA), Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values (AFLV), Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, Delta Chi Fraternity, Theta Xi Fraternity and more. He also continues to be involved in philanthropic efforts in and around his home community. 

Tyler is originally from Moreau, New York (north of Albany). He now lives in Oxford, Ohio. In his free time, Tyler enjoys golfing poorly, running, reading and trying to catch up with the busy lives of his young niece and nephews via FaceTime. You can also find him cheering on his beloved Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks during football season as well as the Boston Celtics, New York Yankees and Syracuse Orange.
