As President of your Delta Sigma Pi collegiate chapter, you serve as the chief executive officer, overall manager, and motivator for the chapter—keeping a big picture view and overseeing all other officers and members in their Fraternity roles and functions.

Don’t let yourself get overwhelmed, especially if you are new to the office of President. Consult the links to the left for answers and insights, or contact Delta Sigma Pi officers and staff for help.
- Talk to your Regional Vice President and District Director about Fraternity events and policies. Ask about projects and activities other chapters in the region are planning.
- Work with your Chapter Advisor when you need a go-between for issues related to faculty or school administrators.
- Call the Central Office Staff with questions about chapter operations or administrative functions.
As chapter President, your required duties include:
- Enforcing strict observance of Delta Sigma Pi bylaws, policies, and procedures.
- Appointing committees and officers as required in bylaws.
- Countersigning all chapter checks.
- Ensuring that your chapter’s Executive Committee develops and maintains a strategic plan, and submits the plan to the Central Office semi-annually.
- Serving as your chapter’s delegate to the Provincial Council, or designating an alternate if you are unable to attend.
- Calling special meetings in accordance with chapter bylaws.

To help your chapter to run smoothly and to make your job easier, we also recommend:
- Having a weekly face-to-face meeting with your Chapter Advisor.
- Discussing chapter issues with your District Director at least monthly.
- Informing the business school dean about chapter activities regularly.
- Verifying your chapter finances before signing checks.
- Reviewing your chapter’s CMP status in the Hub regularly.
- Keeping close oversight of pledge activities to ensure compliance with Risk Management Policy and to prevent hazing.
- Attending Presidents' Academy.
- Carefully proofread all chapter publications and review meeting minutes for format and accuracy.
- Plan ahead and set specific goals for all chapter operations.
- Read all publications and correspondence sent to your chapter, and communicate important information to appropriate officers and members.
