Only those that prove service above and beyond the expected standards of an ideal member will be awarded the certificate. A person must be nominated by a member of the Board of Directors and the nomination must be approved by a 2/3rds of the Board of Directors.

Winners of the Distinguished Service Certificate receive a certificate for presentation at a Delta Sigma Pi event, as well as recognition in The DELTASIG.
