The peak of World War II found Delta Sigma Pi with only 11 active collegiate chapters. During that time, due to reduction in annual income of the Fraternity, many national activities including the publication of The DELTASIG were suspended. This was so money could be saved to help with post-war efforts of rebuilding the Fraternity. The January 1943 issue, which was not mailed until March of that year, was dedicated to listing the 1,723 members in service so brothers could get acquainted with each other. The magazine resumed printing in November 1946; in that issue more than 4,000 members were reported as having served during the war.
