Fraternity Board Meeting Minutes in Seconds

The National Fraternity Board of Directors met in Schaumburg, Ill. August 9-10 before Grand Chapter Congress. The Minutes in Seconds are a quick summary of the meeting.
- Thanked 2013 COY Richie Brandt and VPF Shane Borden for their service to the Board and welcomed 2015 COY Chad Robinson and new VPF Kelly Rabin.
- Approved the following for Golden Council: Tim Beasley, Richie Brandt, Jeanette Buie, Joy Carroll, Dan Collins, Jillian Gartner, Trey Hernandez, Hannah Hoes, Kara Hoover-Lenox, Crystal Justice, Susan Lackey, Harmony Lazore, Erin Lee, Kris McDaniel, Karin Olivo, Kelly Rabin, Monica Ramey, Carrie Sagel Burns, Chris Sands, Alex Warrick, Charisse Welborn, and Mark Wernette.
- Re-appointed Wendy Eilers as National Organizational Development Chair and Paul Carpinella as National Professional Development Chair for 2015-2017 biennium.
- Approved Leadership Foundation grant request funding prioritization for 2016-17.
- Approved set aside resolution per IRS regulations In the amount of $231,407.
- Approved to write off $620 of debt for Kappa Xi (Louisiana Lafayette).
- Approved to move forward with the National Volunteer Leadership Retreat in August of 2016 in Atlanta, Pittsburg or St. Louis.
- Approved specific recognition for collegiate chapters without having to apply—for awards recognizing highest increase in membership; highest percent of chapter members attending LEAD School and Provincial Conference; and most improved CMP.
- Chose Ronald McDonald House Charities as a national philanthropy for 2015-17. Future recommendation will be considered to remove blood drives as a national initiative. Make A Difference Day is retained.
- Removed Iota Phi (Cal State-Fresno) from probation and placed on guidance until June 2016.
- Placed Xi Sigma (Wingate) on probation for one year until August 2016.
- Placed Delta (Marquette) on suspension for 90 days until November 13, 2015.
- Offered Phi (Southern California) guidance until June 2016.
- Approved 2016 Fall LEAD School Budget with similar fees and expenses to prior years.
- Conducted two individual trials.
