Interns are spread across 14 different departments. Based in their Camas, Washington/Portland Metro-Area office, the internships are thought of as eight-week interviews, with full-time offers being extended to many graduating seniors.
Fisher recruits interns from a wide array of majors and areas of the country.
Although many of the interns come from all over the country, four had something in common: brotherhood. Below these Deltasigs describe their experience interning with Fisher Investments and how it helped them excel in the professional world.
Skylar George, Colorado-Boulder (member since 2014)
"I think the biggest aspect that I gained from my internship was invaluable
perspective. I gained perspective on my personal and professional development, working in a corporate setting, and the investing industry. I feel better equipped after working for Fisher Investments to network, work in teams, and understand my own passions. I would highly recommend Fisher Investments for internships and full time positions because they concentrate on investing into their employees as much as possible. If you want to grow exponentially Fisher is where you can achieve that."
Daria Kolpakova, Georgia (member since 2016)
"My internship with Fisher Investments was an incredible opportunity to learn about the financial world and to work alongside a group of extrem
ely driven and diverse students from across the country. Throughout the rotational program, I was able to sharpen my own skills while working on projects that challenged me to utilize my personal experiences and outlook to find ways to improve the firm's processes and drive results. I had exposure to all areas of the firm in order to better understand its structure and operations and was given the chance to present my project to senior management. Ultimately, this opportunity allowed me to form professional relationships, enhance my business acumen, and to create lasting impact for Fisher Investments."
Daniel Persa, Washington State (member since 2015)
"Working as an intern at Fisher Investments has been one of the most valuable opportunities I have had in my pursuit of a career in finance. I
was able to expand my knowledge of capital markets, meet amazing people and work in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Working in a professional environment that actually added value to the operations and development of the company was extremely engaging. The presentation exhibition competition provided a perfect platform for the development of my soft skills and ability to contribute efficiently. I was able to analytically approach projects and provide solutions. It was exactly what I was looking for in an internship and future workplace."
Taylor Quindlen, South Carolina (member since 2014)
"Working at Fisher this summer gave me insight into the world of investing from an ethical and customer-focused standpoint. I worked in the R
egional Sales Associate and Client Programs departments assisting employees with portfolio analysis and market research needs. Through these projects, I learned to analyze ambiguous data sets, give a mock sales pitch to a prospect, isolate target groups that had low turnout for siminars and present two original project ideas at the intern exposition. The mentorship opportunities at this firm are truly unique, I often got to speak to team leaders and group vice presidents on a day to day basis. The shadows and rotational aspect of the program gave me insight as to what every position does in the firm which was helpful to understand their competitive advantage in the industry."
