RVP Recognized As Corpus Christi's Under 40

Feb 01, 2017 – Gulf Western RVP Musanna Al-Muntasir was recently given the honor of being named one of Corpus Christi's Under 40 professionals for his outstanding service, professionalism and success.

Al-Muntasir_Musanna -5545-X3The Corpus Christi Under 40 was created in 2006 to recognize outstanding citizens who dedicate their time and resources to the betterment of the Corpus Christi community. Individuals are nominated and a scoring system is used to narrow the list to 40 professionals. In the end, those left are the outstanding individuals who are dedicated to making a difference in education, healthcare, technology and many other facets of the community. These individuals persevere and are determined to create culture and opportunity for others in the communities which they live. In addition, one of the under 40 nominees is honored as the "Person of the Year."

Nominated by a colleague at Del Mar College, Al-Muntasir's professional and philanthropic dedication sets him apart and is a testament to why he was chosen as an Under 40 nominee. From dedicating his time teaching others to helping those in need, he has spent countless hours helping better the Corpus Christi community one good deed at a time.

Al-Muntasir is the director of marketing and development for South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind and oversees the organization's marketing efforts as they strive to employ, educate and empower the blind community and those with visual impairments. As marketing director, he successfully implemented e-commerce strategies and revamped and updated the company's website. The customer experience is much more streamlined and user-friendly as consumers are now able to order much easier through the system. He has also launched new social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. In addition, he has created several ads that were shown to the Board of Trustees highlighting an example of marketing strategies the organization is undertaking.

He is also very active at Del Mar College, where he was the team lead in meeting performance for a state grant to provide education and training to veterans, leading the department to become a state "best practice." He is also a faculty instructor at Del Mar where he teaches GED students courses in office management and the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

In addition to his successful career, Al-Muntasir is involved in many extracurricular organizations. For example, he is our Gulf Western RVP, the president and vp of advertising and promotions at The American Marketing Association and participates on the marketing committee for the Young Business Professionals of the Coastal Bend organization. He is also a member of the West Side Business Association, a Texas State Aquarium member and an intern and member at the UT Arlington Alumni Association.

His remaining time is spent volunteering at organizations in the Corpus Christi community. For example, Al-Muntasir volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and helped build homes for low income families. He also helped socialize and train animals at South Texas's largest no kill shelter, the Gulf Coast Humane Society to make them more likely to be adopted.

With Al-Muntasir's success comes humility. According to him, "I don't do it for recognition, because there's happiness in knowing you're part of making a difference in the community and improving the lives of individuals. It's a beautiful thing to see someone grow and make their contribution to society. Nothing can compare to that feeling knowing you were a part of that positive outcome."
