Tyler will begin working at the Central Office February 1. This comes after Shanda Gray’s position changed to focus solely on educational
programming and event planning.
Tyler joins our team after a nine year career with the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, the last four as their Foundation's executive director. During his time as executive director, he helped with the creation and execution of the foundation’s first comprehensive strategic plan, which focused the foundation on alignment, relationships, engagement and communication. Also during his tenure, the Foundation’s annual giving program grew steadily, reaching an all-time high and he helped launch major gift and planned giving programs, which created a dedicated focus to transformational giving.
In addition to his service as the executive director, Wash also served as the editor-in-chief of the Laurel, Phi Kappa Tau’s magazine, which was recently redesigned for visual appearance and content direction.
Tyler is originally from Danville, Kentucky (south of Lexington). He now lives in Oxford, Ohio with his wife Kellsey who works for Republic Airlines, a regional carrier for Delta and American. Her days as a flight attendant started after tenures with Miami University and Delta Sigma Pi as a communications coordinator.
In his free time, Tyler enjoys golfing and yardwork. He also loves to travel with Kellsey. Some of their most memorable trips abroad have been to Ireland, England, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Domestically, they enjoyed time in Alaska, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Florida. They also love to watch sporting events, mainly the University of Kentucky Wildcats, The Ohio State University Buckeyes or the Miami University RedHawks.
