In January 1957, with 90% of its membership voting in favor on a mail-in ballot, Delta Sigma Pi’s brotherhood righted a wrong and allowed racial inclusivity within the organization. Today, we’re proud of the accomplishments over 300,000 brothers
of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds have made. In honor of Black History Month, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on one of our Black members. Conchita “Cheta” Dixon is a sterling example of our numerous Black members who
have enriched our Fraternity, Leadership Foundation and our nation with their talents and work ethic.
Conchita "Cheta" Dixon, Penn State-Erie, has excelled as a financial-services professional and currently affords clients her expertise as a financial advisor for Vanguard. She has also worked as a financial planner and client relationship
administrator there, and as a financial consultant for institutional retirement plans for TIAA.
Brother Dixon has also provided outstanding service to Delta Sigma Pi. She was active with the Philadelphia Alumni Chapter after graduation, serving as President, Vice President, and Vice President-Chapter Operations over a 15-year span. Her deep knowledge
of the Fraternity enabled her to serve as District Director to Beta Nu at Pennsylvania, Alpha Gamma at Penn State-State College and the Startup Group at Lehigh (PA). She is currently serving as District Director for Omega Chi at Drexel University,
and helped to install the chapter in July 2019. She has also served on multiple Fraternity and Foundation committees, such as the National Professional Development Committee and the Foundation’s Fraternity Event, Gifts and Solicitations
and GCC Planning Committees. She currently serves as a Leadership Foundation Trustee.
Conchita has attended nearly 40 national Fraternity events. You might recognize Conchita from her beautiful singing voice; she has led the singing of The Rose of Deltasig at several Grand Chapter Congresses and LEAD events. We
were proud to bestow a Silver Helmet to Brother Dixon at the 2019 Northeastern
LEAD Provincial Conference.
