Organized by Laurie Gail Senko, Arizona State, the event featured Gamma Omega officers presenting to the alumni chapter about the Chapter Leadership Fund and how the students benefit from attending educational and leadership opportunities with
the donations. Laurie supports the chapter as a Leadership Foundation Chapter Champion, a volunteer position supporting engagement and fundraising efforts at the chapter level. Larry Van Quathem, Arizona, also advised the group about the Leadership Foundation purposes and how alumni can contribute. This
is the third event hosted by Laurie focusing on networking opportunities for younger brothers with alumni and keeping members updated on changes within Delta Sigma Pi.
For Laurie, the goal of events like this is to connect “lost” alumni and re-engage them with the Fraternity. “By hosting these types of events, I get to see my favorite brothers who don't normally attend alumni events and feel like
I am giving back to the Fraternity by promoting the purposes of the Leadership Foundation's educational opportunities,” she said. “Together, we can strengthen our brotherhood again and make sure we have current contact information for
brothers who haven't been active for a while.”
Laurie has always been well-connected to the Phoenix-Thunderbird Alumni Chapter and Delta Sigma Pi. She has served as alumni chapter vice president and District Director. Senko was also a former Desert Mountain Regional Director (now title Regional Vice
President) and is the first female Silver Helmet recipient for her 25 years of service to Delta Sigma Pi.
If you know any “lost” alumni not receiving Deltasig communications, please submit updated contact information here.
