Our 309th chapter was installed with 58 new initiates, and more than 100 individuals attended their Chartering
Celebration. View photos from the event on Delta Sigma Pi’s Facebook page.
The Illinois-Chicago Startup Group began in spring 2024 when students Aden Joe (now chapter president) and Abin Polakkattil contacted the Fraternity to start a chapter. From the beginning, the students and advisors were excited to recruit classmates and
form a strong group.
Students attended virtual webinars hosted by the Fraternity, connected with students from neighboring chapters, and met fraternal leaders to gain valuable insight. Before the end of their first semester, they had already met several petitioning requirements
and had an incredible amount of support from their faculty advisor and Deltasig alumni.
In fall 2024, the group held different professional, service, fundraising, and social events to build stronger connections with each other. The officers worked to foster friendship and dedication by hosting recruiting events that reflected the group’s
interests and Fraternity values.
District Director Hunter Weber said, “I firmly believe they will succeed as a chapter that will contribute significantly to our Fraternity. They are poised to lead with integrity and vision, driving growth and fostering a sense of brotherhood for years to come.”
