Phi Mu Fraternity has invited all interfraternal Greek organizations and campuses with a fraternity/sorority community to participate in the fifth annual National Ritual Celebration Week, March 1 - 7, 2015. The week once again includes the National Panhellenic Conference's International Badge Day on Monday, March 2, 2015. NRCW exists to encourage members to reflect on why fraternities/sororities have rituals, reflect on why fraternities and sororities were founded, explore what it means to live by one's ritual, learn how to celebrate being a part of an interfraternal community and discuss what being a member of an organization with a ritual means.
What can you do to celebrate Ritual? Suggestions are below with a calendar of ways to celebrate.
-
In honor of International Badge Day on Monday, March 2, wear your badge and encourage members to wear their badge.
- "Like" Delta Sigma Pi on Facebook to join the conversation and share your celebration.
- Take the Ritual Assessment. Use this information to strengthen Ritual within your chapter.
- Lead a Ritual review that covers the oath, meaning of the Greek letters, the password, handshake, Coat of Arms and badge.
- Lead a Ritual Discussion and ask these questions:
- Why is Ritual important?
- Who is responsible for Ritual in a chapter?
- How do you demonstrate that we are a values-based organization?
- What is the difference between performing Ritual and practicing or living Ritual?
