Truman State St. Jude Up Till Dawn Fundraiser

Apr 02, 2015 – In February, 24 brothers from Iota Nu Chapter at Truman State dedicated their night to “Stay Up For Good” and raised over $3,000!

The St. Jude Up Till Dawn fundraiser that brothers participated in is a nationwide student-led philanthropic program in which college students raise awareness and funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Delta Sigma Pi brothers formed four teams of six and each member raised at least $100 in order to participate. On the night of the fundraiser, sixteen teams representing students from all across campus gathered in the Student Recreation Center at midnight to start the festivities. Throughout the night, teams competed in team building competitions to stay energized. The St. Jude staff and the Up Til Dawn Executive Board also took time to share facts and success stories about the research hospital. While participating in the competitions and learning about the kids, participants were given the chance to think about why they were staying up all night and the importance of one's health.

In total, Iota Nu Chapter raised $3,192.50 to support the children and families who depend on the services and research of St. Jude. The funds were raised by asking friends and family to donate through social media and email. Through the Up Til Dawn fundraiser, the chapter had more than the opportunity to bond with peers throughout campus. They supported an organization that has served countless families. Iota Nu Chapter is extremely grateful for all of the work put on by the St. Jude staff and Up Til Dawn Executive Board and they look forward to participating again in future years.
