Arizona State Volunteers with Feed My Starving Children

Sep 30, 2015 – PHOENIX--The Gamma Omega Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi at Arizona State packed 151 boxes of food for children in the Philippines, totaling 32,616 meals.
At the Mesa branch of Feed My Starving Children packing event, 19 collegians and three pledges joined together to aid in the fight against world hunger. The meals packed will feed 89 children for an entire year. This is the second year in a row that the chapter aided the nonprofit dedicated to feeding malnourished children across the globe. Last year, Brittany Eckerman, Arizona State, put together a team of 30 brothers to pack meals at the Mesa location and the chapter returned this year to show its commitment to Delta Sigma Pi’s value of service to the community.

Each day, 6,200 children worldwide die from malnourishment, and Gamma Omega is proud to work with Feed My Starving Children to reduce that number. Through this event, brothers learned the value of teamwork and saw the difference that two hours of volunteering can make for so many children. As a chapter, they are always looking for better ways to serve their community, both locally and globally. Gamma Omega Chapter plans to continue working with Feed My Starving Children for years to come.
