The chapter saw opportunity when students of the College of Business and Economics had difficulty finding business tutors. On campus, the tutoring labs focus on English, math, science and foreign languages, and aren’t readily available for business classes. According to the chapter, students were changing their majors because classes were too hard without additional assistance from tutors.
To support business students and increase retention in the College, Lambda Psi brothers launched a mentoring and tutoring program.  The brothers provide tutoring in accounting, economics, math, critical thinking, quantitative business analysis and finance. The students who attended the tutoring sessions gave very positive feedback and credited the Deltasig tutors for helping them improve their grades. 
Students of the College were not the only ones to benefit from the Deltasig tutoring program, many members themselves also benefitted. “I watched many of the tutors step out of their comfort zones, gain leadership skills and improve their communication abilities,” said VP-Alumni Relations and tutoring program coordinator Claire Niibu-Akau.
Additionally, the mentors created positive relationships that will help with recruitment in the future.  Brother Niibu-Akau believes the time the chapter invested in this program will greatly benefit the chapter in the future.
