The planning for the January event began in the fall of 2015, when members expressed interest in attending a game and participating in a panel discussion. The panel discussion included set questions and an on-the-spot Q&A with Pistons employees who worked in group sales and corporate partnerships. Lambda Xi was not the only Delta Sigma Pi chapter attending this event, brothers from Mu Phi at Saginaw Valley State and Epsilon Omicron at Western Michigan also attend with collegians from additional schools. Although not all 16 members of Lambda Xi were specifically interested in professional sports, the advice the panelists had to give was applicable to working in any career.
    Following the panel discussion, Detroit Pistons jersey No. 3 was retired in honor of NBA Champion and Defensive Player of the Year Ben Wallace. Lambda Xi and the tour group were able to go on the court to watch both the Pistons and Golden State Warriors warm-up. The evening was particularly exciting because the Pistons are only one of four teams to hand the Warriors a loss this year.
