To demonstrate the value of Delta Sigma Pi to potential recruits, Senior VP Alexandra Ayala, South Florida-Tampa, scheduled a professional event with Springleaf Financial/OneMain Financial. As a partner of Delta Sigma Pi, Springleaf/OneMain offers career, internship, and event opportunities. At this recruitment event, Springleaf/OneMain representatives gave advice on achieving success and presented wide-ranging career opportunities for business graduates. Springleaf Vice President/Managing Director Deidre Gwin encouraged attendees to learn new skills and information continuously in order to be ready for the next step in their career. A career advancement opportunity may come at any time—whether it is sought out or not!
The chapter marketed the event through social media and flyers with assistance from the University. This led to 10 potential recruits attending the event as well as guests, four representatives from Springleaf/OneMain, and 20 brothers. Brother Ayala sought out Springleaf/OneMain after learning about their company and was inspired by the opportunity for professional growth with a Delta Sigma Pi partner. This was truly beneficial since many Theta Phi collegians weren’t aware of the numerous partnerships Delta Sigma Pi holds. As a result of the event, four brothers earned interviews with Springleaf/OneMain.
The chapter is proud of the event because they planned it with Springleaf/OneMain to support our values as a professional organization. This event and all chapter events give members the opportunity to strengthen their fraternal bonds, practice business skills, and connect with the professional world.
