According to VPCS Carly Friedman, the event is close to the chapter's heart. "We chose to raise money for pancreatic cancer research because our former president's father battled this deadly disease and unfortunately lose that battle in the spring of 2015. The event was started in the fall of 2014, and we only felt it was right to continue this event to hopefully one day put an end to pancreatic cancer. We are donating the funds to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network."
The event was held on Binghamton's campus and was open to everyone on campus and in the community. The chapter contacted four acapella groups on campus, two dance groups, an improv comedy group and even had a brother sing and play the guitar - all making for a fun and entertaining evening!
Approximately $1,200 was raised through ticket sales for the event. An additional $6,000 has been raised for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network through a GoFundMe page the chapter set up.

A rock-acapella group performs at Purple with a Purpose and had everyone on their feet.
