Deltasigs from the Jacksonville area joined National Fraternity leaders at an alumni reception at the rustic Bistro AIX in Jacksonville's historic San Marco District.
Brothers and guests enjoyed an evening catching up with brothers and making new connections. Grand President Tricia Smith provided an update on the recent accomplishments of the Fraternity through the
Strategic Priorities, including the
award-winning Presidents' Academy, the power of
LEAD Schools and Provincial Conferences, initiating over 285,000 brothers over the past 113 years, and more. For many of the attendees, this was the first time hearing of these great milestones.
Highlights of the reception included reconnecting with two Deltasigs who initiated at the University of Maryland and were attending their first Fraternity event since 1973, being introduced to a young alumnus who came to the reception directly from his duty working on a nuclear submarine and watching PGP Mitch Simmons reconnect with his pledge brothers after many years.
Members of the Jacksonville Alumni Chapter were in attendance to welcome the local alumni and encourage ongoing communication and engagement.
The Fraternity is hosting a number of local alumni receptions this year, with the goal of engagement and networking. Alumni receptions are currently planned for the Denver area (
Wynkoop Brewing Company in downtown Denver on Feb. 27) and Dallas area (
Haywire Restaurant in Plano on March 6).
More than 40 brothers and guests enjoyed the Jacksonville Alumni Reception at Bistro AIX in January.
