Delta Sigma Pi Closes Three Chapters

Sep 21, 2020 – Lambda Chi at California-Riverside, Xi Sigma at Wingate (NC) and Gamma Theta at Wayne State (MI) all recently closed.

The Board of Directors of Delta Sigma Pi recently voted to close Lambda Chi for risk management violations and Xi Sigma for declining membership and business enrollment. The members of Gamma Theta voted to relinquish their charter.

One of our strategic priorities is to expand to at least 250 active collegiate chapters, and while we just celebrated the addition of a new chapter, we will NOT compromise our values and principles for the sake of growth. We aim to conduct ourselves according to a higher standard and the safety and well-being of our members will always be a top priority.

We hold our collegiate brothers to the same #DSPHigherStandard as any other member of this organization and do not take any concern that comes our way lightly. So while these closings sadden us, we can move forward knowing the sooner we work together to identify possible issues, the greater the possibility it can be quickly addressed, leading to a lasting positive experience for our members and those with which they interact.

Chapters are currently recruiting members during a time which the Fraternity has never experienced. We want to be a resource to chapters and give them every opportunity available to recruit members safely and successfully, and have smooth chapter operations this term.

If you have questions or concerns about a member or chapter, please contact your local elected leader or the staff at Central Office.
