The Deltasig Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a member deemed to exemplify the spirit of Delta Sigma Pi by his or her lifetime of service, support, brotherhood, and Fraternity, business, and civic involvement. The 2015 Lifetime Achievement award will be presented to Tim Gover, Southern Methodist, at Grand Chapter Congress in Chicago this August.

Tim was initiated into Beta Phi Chapter at Southern Methodist University in December 1958. When Brother Gover became a professor of finance at Eastern Illinois in 1963, he helped charter Epsilon Omega Chapter as Chapter Advisor and continued to serve until 1985. Tim continued to support the Fraternity by later serving on the Board of Directors and was elected into the Golden Council in 1982. He received his Silver Helmet for 25 years of service in 1984 and his Golden Helmet for 50 years of service in 2009. Brother Gover also served as an officer and director of the former Delta Sigma Pi Educational Foundation and served on a Leadership Foundation committee. Along with his service, he is a continual donor to the Leadership Foundation, earning the Entrepreneur Award in 2007 for over $10,000 in donations.

Professionally, Brother Gover was a finance professor at Eastern Illinois for 32 years and served as Director of First Federal Savings and Loan in Mattoon for over 37 years. Now, retired, he is the mayor of Mattoon, Illinois. In addition to supporting Delta Sigma Pi, he served eleven years as president for Coles County Council where he was involved with the planning, fundraising and construction of their Life Span Center. He also served for five years as a member of the Board of Eastern Illinois University Foundation serving as president of the board for one year.

Tim also supports of the legacy of Delta Sigma Pi—Tim’s son Ed, Illinois-Urbana, brother Bob, Eastern Illinois, cousin Tom, Eastern Illinois, and granddaughter Lainey, Baylor, are also Deltasigs. His late wife, Marilyn, and daughter-in-law Bonnie, were Pink Poodles having attended Grand Chapter Congress with him.
