The Outstanding Collegiate Chapter Award is presented on an annual basis to the collegiate chapter of Delta Sigma Pi which, through its actions and activities, best promotes the aims and ideals stated in the Purpose of the Fraternity. Deltasig's National Scholastic Development and Awards Committee, led by Tim Beasley,
Cal State-Fullerton, selected Eta Theta Chapter from five provincial winners which included the following:
- North Central - South Dakota
- Western - San Diego State
- Southern - South Florida-Tampa
- South Central - Angelo State (TX)
- Northeastern - Kent State (OH)
"The Eta Theta Chapter set out on a goal over two years to become one of the best chapters in the nation," said National Awards Chair Tim Beasley. "Last year they showed their plan was coming together by winning National Most Improved Collegiate Chapter and used that win to propel them forward, focusing on doing the right events and running their chapter the right way. They have continued down that road of success by becoming this year's Most Outstanding Collegiate Chapter. They have done this by putting long-term initiatives into place, striving for bigger and better events, and rebranding themselves on their campus and in their community. The chapter is striving to be an ideal chapter because they believe that is the goal every chapter should have. The chapter made that happen by surpassing recruitment goals, holding solid professional and community service events, focusing on driving alumni engagement and involvement and spending one-third of their operating revenue in order to send brothers to LEAD events. The chapter had the most well-rounded application in the nation. Eta Theta focused on the right things and got the right results."
In addition to winning the National Outstanding Collegiate Chapter Award, Eta Theta was recognized provincially for Outstanding Financial Operations and Scholstic Development and regionally for Outstanding Service.
