Proposed Amendment 2: Increasing the Size of the Board

What Does This Proposal Do?

This proposal is designed to adjust the size of Delta Sigma Pi’s Board of Directors. This proposal will aid in the transitioning of Delta Sigma Pi’s Board of Directors from an Operating Board to a Governing/Strategic Board. This is an initiative that the Board of Directors has been undertaking for a few years and addresses the Resolution that the Grand Chapter passed at Grand Chapter Congress in 2023.

To encourage a board structure that promotes individuals with the ideal core competencies and have an ideal board environment, Brothers would be elected to the Board as a Board Member, not necessarily by default of their operational title. Our current structure is limiting to many Brothers as over half of the voting members of the Board of Directors carry a large operational burden. These positions would not have additional operational responsibilities. They would be a Board member alone, allowing for a great focus on governance, and encouraging Brothers with skills, competencies, and passions for governance to step forward in this role that may have held them back in the past.
